Isle of Skye Day Tour from Aberdeen, Dyce, Inverurie, Insch & Huntly

If you are keen to go on our Isle of Skye Tour and are based in Aberdeen, Dyce, Inverurie, Insch or Huntly then it is definitely an option for you to do this all in one day (it will be a long day, but definitely worth it to see the wonderful Isle of Skye!)

Which trains should I take?

There is only one option in the morning, and it arrives into Inverness at 0836.  As the train station is less than a 5 minute walk from the bus station you should easily be able to reach our bus stop by 0850.

How do I book train tickets?

Train tickets can easily be booked online on www.scotrail.co.uk . We would strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance, rather than on the day, as it is usually much cheaper. However, it is only possible to book tickets a maximum of 12 weeks in advance.

Does the tour price include my train ticket?

No, the tour price only includes the guiding and transportation on our tour. You must purchase your train tickets separately.

What if the tour arrives late back into Inverness in the evening?

If the tour arrives back after 2130, and you miss your train, you will need to get a taxi back to Aberdeen, or stay in Inverness overnight.  However, is is only on extremely rare occasions that the tour is that late (it has only happened around 3 times over 5 years/over 500 tours that we have been over 45 minutes late, and we have never been 1 1/2 hours late!), and we will do our best to help you in this situation.

What if I am running late and miss the train to/from Inverness

Check-in closes at 0750 but we will be happy to wait for you until 0800 – we cannot wait any longer than this as the tour must depart on time, to get back on time.
We cannot be held responsible for missed departures in the evening, due to the tour being late as a result of circumstances outwith our control.

Is there anything else I need to do?

If you wish to take our Isle of Skye Day Tour and plan to travel back on the train to Aberdeen, please let us know so that we are aware that you may arrive after check-in closes in the morning.
