Cruise experts choose Classic Highland Tour

When booking a cruise, you may find that the choice of liners, routes and destinations can be overwhelming. Research is key, in order that you can maximise the time you spend on board and at every port of call.  To assist with this research, helpful advice and tips from experienced cruisers is often an invaluable planning tool.  As such, we were delighted to be approached by ParoDeeJay; prolific cruisers, vloggers and an all-round fun and entertaining couple.  They were visiting the Scottish Highlands on a cruise, and were really keen to come out on our Invergordon shore tour.  

Who are ParoDeeJay?

ParoDeeJay are a couple, Dee and Jay, from North Carolina, USA.  These guys have been producing engaging, humorous and informative vlogs about their cruising adventures since 2015. In this time they have clocked up over 71,000 subscribers to their YouTube channel.  They were coming to Invergordon on the Holland America’s Nieuw Statendam, as part of a 35-day Ultimate Viking Explorer cruise, visiting Greenland, Iceland, Norway, The Netherlands, The Faroe Islands and, of course, Scotland.

Classic Highland Tour a perfect fit

We were delighted to host Dee and Jay on our Classic Highland Shore Tour from Invergordon in August 2024.  They got in touch, as “we’ve seen fantastic reviews of your tours on TripAdvisor and Viator, and since my wife and I are both history and nature lovers, your “Classic Highland Tour” would be a perfect fit for us and for our audience.” 

Further to their tour they produced a video, which is a great resource for those considering our Invergordon shore tour.  They had a wonderful day, and were particularly impressed with Andrew, our tour guide.  It’s a shame they didn’t get better weather, as the views are compromised at times, but hey, we can’t control everything!

What the experts say

When they are back in the ship ready for dinner they present a summary of their day.  Their comments were wholly positive and included the following;

“They’re a smaller company, WOW Scotland.  They only have three buses and five tour guides but they want to keep it that way. They want the experience to be just that, where it’s more about the experience than putting as many people on the bus as you can…quality, not quantity…fantastic!”

Dee and Jay seemed to really enjoy our tour guide, Andrew’s, company, but particularly his well-honed storytelling skills, which they felt made the tour a more, “immersive experience”. They were so complimentary of him, saying that;

Andrew was a wealth of information…it’s like listening to an audio guide..he has such a nice voice. The level of detail and passion for history ..it was great to see

Given how many tours they go on, all over the world, we are delighted that they were so enthusiastic and impressed. We continually strive to offer world-class experiences, and it is feedback such as this which really makes us feel that the hard work is paying off.

An honest account, honestly!

We didn’t pay ParoDeeJay to come on our tour, so you can trust that this is an honest account of their day with us.  If you take a look at their YouTube channel you’ll see that they put a huge amount of effort into their content. Although it looks like their life is one big holiday, it is clear that they are hard working and committed in their efforts to be a trusted resource for cruisers, which we absolutely applaud.
