WOW Factor         Media         5-star Quality Assurance         Awards         Staff         Reviews         Green Tourism

WOW Scotland offers a range of scheduled tours which aim to showcase the very best of Scotland.

We (Gordon and Kay) were both born and bred in Northern Scotland and founded WOW Scotland in 2010, as we were both keen to share the secrets of this wonderful region with visitors from all over the world.  We initially offered hiking tours, then progressed to small sightseeing tours, but we decided that we wanted to bring quality tour products to more than just a handful of lucky customers each day!

With our passion for excellent customer service and our dedication to providing the best possible tour experiences, we have grown to become one of the top tour companies in the Scottish Highlands; number 1 on TripAdvisor and 5 star rated by Visit Scotland.  Our mission has always remained the same; to provide unique and world-class tour experiences to our customers.

We are based in rural Inverness-shire, and are committed to supporting the fragile Highland economy, as this is our wonderful home and workplace.  We hope that you will enjoy exploring Scotland as much we do!

We know that there are a number of companies offering similar tour itineraries, and we appreciate that it can be difficult to decide which company to use.  We have summarised some of the main benefits on coming on our tours, so that you can make the best decision for your group;

  • We are the only company to offer a seat reservation system for our front row seats
  • We are the only company to offer meal ordering services on all Inverness tours, saving you precious time and supporting local businesses
  • We are offer WiFi on board all tours
  • We are the only local company offering coach tours to Skye from Inverness (we operate from Tomatin, 20 miles south of Inverness, and the company owner is an Invernessian born and bred!).  We think that this is important, as it means that the money you pay for your ticket goes back into the local economy.
  • We have been awarded 5 Star “exceptional” Tour status by our national tourism organisation, Visit Scotland, for the last three years.
  • We are the number one tour operator in Inverness as rated by TripAdvisor, with over 1400 5 star reviews

5 Star Rated Tour Company

We’re incredibly proud to have been awarded the prestigious VisitScotland 5 Star award for our tours. This means that they are recognised as being ‘exceptional’.

Your WOW Guide
Gordon Pearson

Founder and Tour Guide

Gordon founded WOW Scotland in 2010 and hasn’t looked back since. He loves talking about the Scottish Highlands, both on tour and on the TV and radio. When not running WOW Scotland Gordon’s other passion in life is backcountry skiing, which he does all over the world (but mostly in Scotland!).

Sandy Dear
Tour Guide

Sandy has been working in Scottish tourism for over 20 years and has been a key part of team WOW since 2014. His knowledge of the Scottish Highlands is outstanding and, as well as being a great story teller, he has an easy-going and very friendly nature, which make him the perfect tour guide!

Robert Carr
Tour Guide

Prior to being a tour guide, Rob ran successful food and tourism businesses in Edinburgh and Perthshire. He has now been in the Highlands for 12 years, where he loves to indulge in his joint passions of golf and hiking. WOW is lucky to benefit from Rob’s friendly nature, ready smile, keen sense of humour and endless patience, all of which will help make your tour with us the highlight of your visit to the Highlands.

Kay Pearson
The Boss

Kay spends most of her time in the office, keeping a tight ship whilst the rest of the team are out and about creating the best possible experiences for our customers. Kay’s marketing background means that she is well placed to handle all of WOW’s sales, marketing and logistics.

Paul Tompkins
Tour Guide

Paul is a highly regarded professional travel photographer who has spent over 35 years exploring the length and breadth of Scotland. He knows the scenic backroads of the country better than most and shares his favourite viewpoints, off-the-beaten track locations and the cosiest places to give visitors the most authentic flavour of Scotland. Paul always goes above and beyond to ensure you have a very memorable experience.

Jonathan Willet
Tour Guide

Despite his youthful features Jonathon has a tour guiding career spanning over 20 years! He has a passion for wildlife and often works with the world renowned Aigas Field Centre (he’s also led safaris in Botswana!). In his spare time Jonathan greatly enjoys hillwalking, sea kayaking and looking for Dragonflies in the (at times elusive!) summer sunshine.

Bill Taylor
Tour Guide

Despite hailing from the Lowlands, Bill has spent the last 30 years working, living-in and exploring the Scottish Highlands. When not guiding he advises on nature and heritage based tourism projects, both in Scotland and internationally. He is passionate about everything to do with the Highlands, from 2 billion year old rocks to what is happening in the here and now. Bill also has an unique claim to fame as he has quite literally been everywhere in Scotland!

Donald Morrison
Tour Guide

After a number of years with VisitScotland and Napier University, working to develop tourism businesses in Scotland, Donald left his desk to barge his way around the canals and rivers of France. However, his passion for Scotland, the people, its scenery, its culture, and its history, soon brought him back to start guiding in the Highlands. His quick wit, love of a good story, and heritage of the Inner Isles, add a further dimension to the cast at WOW.

Christian Dicks
Christian Dicks

With over 21 years of experience, Christian is a Jedi Master in the coach driving world. He loves driving through Scotland’s stunning countryside. This passion, along with his expertise, makes him an absolute pro at navigating the narrow and winding rural roads that lead to our favourite WOW spots. He is a self-confessed Trekkie and Star Wars fan, but his passion isn’t limited to driving and sci-fi – he is also a huge fan of the outdoors! His favourite hobby is being out on the trails mountain biking with his friends.

Csaba Kari

Csaba (pronounced Chabba) originally hails from Romania although, after 12 years in Scotland, he has the best ‘Invernessian’ accent of anyone at WOW! Csaba has a real passion for the Scottish Highlands and sharing it with our guests. When he’s not working he likes to switch to two wheels and explore the region on his mountain bike.

Dougie Laidlaw
Dougie Laidlaw

Originally from Glasgow, Dougie moved to Inverness 35 years ago, after a short holiday in the area ignited his passion for the Highlands.  Keen to explore the area he was inspired to become a coach driver, and what better company to work for than one which shares his wholehearted enthusiasm for Scotland?! In his spare time Dougie has two rental properties and thoroughly enjoys hosting guests there, as well as on our tours.
